Regarding the “jay” color chosen by fans as number one
2021 is the year to commemorate Blue Over's 10th anniversary. My staff, Egawa, who was the planner, looks back on the invitation to the #bo development room held as the first part of the 10th anniversary project, and also introduces the color that won first place and was finally commercialized!
Furthermore, we will also take and publish a photo of Mikey, one of only three pairs in the world, which was given to the winner among the voting participants.
“Invitation to #bo development room” is a 10th anniversary voting event!
First of all, let me briefly explain what the "#bo Development Room Invitation" is all about. It is Mikey's color voting event.
To all the fans who have supported Blue Over for 10 years, or those who have just recently discovered Blue Over, we would like to share the color of the upper of Mikey, a model that can be said to be synonymous with the brand. Participate in product development by making choices. That was an attempt.
Many people participated during the one-month event, and we also received messages of congratulations on our 10th anniversary! thank you.
The color that won first place is Jay!
Out of more votes than expected, the one that received the most votes was a light blue jay with a slightly astringent appearance! After about 4 months of production since winning first place, the product has finally been completed.
Thank you to everyone who voted for Jay!
The upper material is velor. Since the skin of living things is dyed, it is not always possible to reproduce the exact color of the color chip. The jay this time also has a slightly more vivid finish than the sample. However, the light blue, which has a slightly astringent feel, is an exquisite color that deserves to be ranked number one.
Jay is available as a 10th anniversary special color at the flagship store Struct and on the Blue Over online site.
Only 3 pairs of Mikey in the world made exclusively for the winners of the lottery held at the same time.
We also held a lottery project to give away Mikey to those who participated in the development by voting for this "Invitation to the #bo Development Room" and reported their participation on Twitter.
Moreover, the Mikey you will receive as a gift is not just any Mikey. Regardless of the voting rank, a special Mikey will be produced in the color chosen by the winner.
We specially made 3 pairs of fog-colored Mikeys that the winners had voted for and gave them to 3 people.
*After one person was drawn from among the applicants, two more people were drawn from among those who voted for the same color as the winner, and a total of three people were presented with Mikey.
Mikey's standard color, taupe and suede dark gray, is a slightly bluish dark gray tone. In fact, it was voted in second place after Kiriiro and Jay. It's certainly easy to use, but it's a nice color that Mikey hasn't had before.
However, this mist-colored Mikey is currently a special item only available to the winners. There are no release plans, so don't worry.
The story behind the invitation to the #bo development room
Finally, I would like to look back on the whole project of inviting people to the #bo development room.
One of the important elements in product development is color. Mikey in particular has a simple configuration, so the color of the leather greatly influences the impression of this model. Moreover, as mentioned earlier, the opponent is leather. Look at the color chip and this is it! It is also true that the color you choose will have a slightly different feel when it comes to the final product.
Important and difficult color selection. But that's also the most fun part of product development.
We wanted our fans to experience that fun, so we created an invitation to the #bo development room.
Looking back, the brand's 9th anniversary in April 2020 was shortly after the coronavirus pandemic hit. It wasn't really a celebratory mood, and the party we usually hold at the store didn't go well.
And April 2021 marks the 10th anniversary. Although we were still in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, we were able to share part of the product development together via the internet with people who were far away and who were learning about Blue Over for the first time, and who we could not meet in real life. We were able to hit it off.
Next is the 11th anniversary. There are still some things that we can't predict, given what's going on in the world, but we'd like to think about holding an event that is both fun and meaningful for our brand next time. Thank you for your continued support of Blue Over!
It's not flashy by any means, but I've been able to continue with everyone's support. From now on, I want to continue to challenge various things diligently and honestly, so I appreciate your support! (Watari)
